Farideh Lashai

Considered as one of the most prominent female Iranian artists, Farideh Lashai produced painting, sculpture, installation, and video work, drawing primarily from her own personal history and also the broader history of modern Iran. Lashai’s practice increasingly focused on combinations of painting and animated projections, in which real and imaginary characters journey through the abstract spaces of her large canvases. Also a published writer, Lashai was interested in exploring narrative through various mediums.

After four decades of successful solo and group exhibitions around the world, Lashai’s works are today part of several private and public collections, including Christie’s in New York.
