Mohamed Ghanaum


Mohamed Ghanaum was born in Damascus in 1949. After obtaining a degree in Fine Arts and Interior Design at the University of Damascus, he became a member of the Executive Board of the collective Fine Arts Syndicate. Ghanaum also dedicated himself to art education, teaching at the Arab School in Moscow and the University of Damascus. His calligraphic works, exploding in colors, were shown in over sixty solo exhibitions and many group shows around the world, for which he received numerous awards and prizes.

In 2004, his name was given to the exhibition hall in the Arabic Culture Center in Guber, Damascus sponsored by the Ministry of Culture. Today, his works are part of private and public collections worldwide, including Syrian ministries and embassies.
